Truly a technological marvel, getting 100+ MPG. It does this by running on electricity part of the time and on gas for the rest. The electric power comes from either the gas engine or by plugging it in to a regular wall socket. On Saturday 2/21 Jerry joined us, Ward Davis and his wife Bracken for dinner.

How does this sound: 100+ MPG in a regular vehicle? You can fill it up at the gas station, and you can plug it in to any 120-volt outlet. But when you do, your car essentially becomes an electric vehicle with a gas-tank backup. But wait, theres more: If your driving is mostly local, youd almost never need to gas-up.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna. Focusing on all-electric, Nissan-Renault partnership with Better Place for EVs.
