The Pennsylvania Turnpike is attempting to power its EV charging stations with solar power facilities along the highway. EV charging suppliers are torn between energy costs, expansion needs, and remaining price competitive (to name a few factors). Renewables offer a great way to help balance the scale.

Everybody knew then that renewables were unreliable: that wind power fully works less than one-third of the time, and that solar power is unavailable at night (of course) and less efficient on cloudy winter days. The cost of grid management has soared to nearly £2billion a year in the last two decades. Gas is the only answer.

Laredo Bus Facility Solar Canopies: Provide shade structures with integrated, grid tied photovoltaic cells to be erected on the bus storage lot at the Laredo Bus Maintenance Facility. This grant would allow ConnDOT to upgrade the upcoming purchases of buses and would fund the incremental cost of a hybrid bus compared to a conventional bus.
