Rivian plans to convert the Starfire Mine in Kentucky to a solar energy center. The conversion is estimated to be a $1 billion solar project. It will be one of Kentucky’s largest renewable power projects once converted. The Starfire Mine, Kentucky, was once one of the largest coal mines in the United States.

We’ve now got some Mo going with: California solar loan financing that will eliminate the big up front cost of solar. With the coming solar feed-in tariff legislation moving through Sacramento that will pay us for the extra solar energy we produce and feed back into the grid.
