Toyota will introduce both gasoline and hybrid powertrain versions of the North American designed and engineered 2013 Avalon. With lock-up control, the transmission’s torque converter fully engages at a lower rpm during standing starts to improve acceleration response and help suppress unnecessary engine revolutions. The concept vehicle has an all-electric range of up to 30 km (19 miles). Combined with the CO 2 bonus for the battery-electric driving mode, the vehicle achieves a certified consumption of 3.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers (73.5 Mercedes-Benz will present the Vision S 500 Plug-in HYBRID at the 63 rd IAA in Frankfurt.

The 2012 Camry again offers three powertrain choices, all of which have been enhanced for 2012 to provide better fuel economy and more responsive performance: a revised 2.5L, 4-cylinder gasoline engine; an enhanced 3.5-liter However, Toyota reports reduced electrical losses in the new Camry inverter as well, compared to the first generation.
