This year alone, Xcel Energy has released a suite of programs to help residential and commercial customers make the transition to electric vehicles and lower certain costs.

RTE recently performed a detailed assessment of engineering designs for capturing, transporting and storing CO 2 , and integrating CCS with ethanol production. RTE proposes capturing the high purity CO 2 stream (>99%) from the ethanol fermentation tank via a commercially available liquefaction system. in combined thickness.

Eligible applicants include regional, state, local or tribal agencies, or port authorities with jurisdiction over transportation or air quality.

Royal DSM and POET, LLC, one of the world’s largest ethanol producers, have formed a joint venture to commercially demonstrate and license cellulosic bioethanol based on their proprietary and complementary technologies. DSM and POET will each hold a 50% share in the joint venture, which will be headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Under the terms of the four-year agreement POET and Agrivida will develop Agrivida’s technology platforms with the goal of significantly reducing the capital and operating costs of commercial cellulosic ethanol production facilities. The facility is slated to begin operations near the end of 2013.
