Mobileye, an Intel Company, and WILLER, one of the largest transportation operators in Japan, Taiwan and the Southeast Asian region, have formed a strategic collaboration to launch an autonomous robotaxi service in Japan and markets across Southeast Asia, including Taiwan. WILLER also partners with 150 local transportation providers in Japan.

Better Place, with support from the US Department of Transportation via the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, has committed to bring a switchable battery, electric taxi program to the Bay Area in partnership with the cities of San Francisco and San Jose. The pilot project began on 26 April, in cooperation with Nihon Kotsu Co.,

Hyundai Motor Company will establish a Hyundai Mobility Global Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICs) to accelerate its innovation efforts, with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). It also will help define the future business direction for the company. HMGICs will become Hyundai’s global open innovation hub.

Better Place introduced its electric vehicle (EV) services platform at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in conjunction with Renault’s unveiling of the Fluence ZE Concept with Quickdrop (switchable) battery system and an expanded agreement with Renault, committing both companies to a volume of at least 100,000 electric cars in Israel and Denmark by 2016.
