The electric version of the Mii and el-Born will be the brand’s first two fully electric models, while the new generation Leon and the Tarraco will feature a plug-in hybrid version.

Like Plug In America, the Alliance is calling for every new light-duty passenger vehicle sold in their countries to have a plug by 2030.

EV sales for the first half of 2022 from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru showed a growth that was driven by a number of factors, including government incentive programs and the cost of fuels. A total of 556,000 passenger NEVs, including both all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, were sold in October.
