I contributed the following to the World Wildlife Climate Witness site last week and it was published this morning. So not only is climate change-driven drought cutting our fresh water supply, but the way we use water here also adds to our greenhouse gas emissions. That’s about a 25% reduction.

When I first met Elizabeth I had no idea that there were so many Tongan Americans living in large communities in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Dallas and other cities across the USA. Today all 3000 inhabitants of the Carteret Islands have been relocated as they become the first climate change refugees.

Perhaps one of my many readers who work for the City of Torrance or the County of Los Angeles wants to pick that torch up and run with it. If I was in the actual city of Los Angeles, a lot more of my electricity would be made from Killer Coal and a lot less from clean, renewables. 2007 USA electric energy fuel mix.

As our climate change crisis worsens and spins out of control with each passing day there’s no time to spare for those of us whose job it is to educate and motivate our fellow citizens to actions that cut our greenhouse gas emissions. If Los Angeles County were a nation, its economy would be the 18th largest in the world.

The prototype vehicle, called Project PUMA (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility), is designed to ease congestion and pollution problems in cities. It is based on the Segway Personal Transporter but holds two people, instead of one, and lets them sit, instead of stand. You could even call it Personal On-demand Driving.
