The quickest and most effective way to make that happen today is to green the current grid, house-by-house, by installing rooftop solar energy systems that feed clean, renewable power into the grid the second they’re switched on. Seems like a perfect use for some stimulus money, don’t it?

I’m probably the last person you’d expect to be passionate about electric vehicles (EVs). Most folks don’t care about air quality, and roll their eyes if you even hint at climate change. In two of the counties, I am often asked if I’m part of “that climate group.” Climate groups focus on overall sustainability.

I’ve written recently about the pulverizing one-two punch that AB 811 – which gives property owners 20 year loans to pay for solar PV installation – and AB 920 – which pays solar PV owners for any excess solar power they produce and pump back into the grid - packs. AB 811 is already law and here in L.A.
