Shenlan, based in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing, announced today that it is offering discounts of up to 42,000 yuan ($6,030) on vehicle purchases. Unlike the Tesla Model 3, the Shenlan SL03 is available in three powertrain variants -- an all-electric version, an extended-range version and a version with a hydrogen fuel cell.

In late April 2015, Geely Auto deployed a first-of-its-kind fleet of 150 methanol-fueled taxis in the southern Chinese city of Guiyang in cooperation with the municipal government. Vulcanol is CRI’s brand name for renewable methanol, produced from CO 2 and hydrogen from renewable sources of electricity (hydro, geothermal, wind and solar).

The head of Chryslers ENVI division, Lou Rhodes, told AutoblogGreen this morning that Chrysler is marketing this battery-only version of the van to commercial fleet customers who typically have shorter range requirements. The extended-range version will be focused on retail customers.
