The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is now available for purchase or lease at several dealerships in northern and southern California, as well as a few in Oregon. Add one more battery-electric vehicle to the list of electric cars for sale in California (if not the rest of the U.S.).

Chevrolet has lowered the price on the Spark EV 1LT to a new manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at $25,995, down from $26,820. Additional Chevrolet bonus cash is also available: $1,000 in California, $1,200 in Maryland, and $3,500 in Oregon.

Chevrolet is stepping up the national rollout of the Volt, and plans to have Volts in all participating dealerships in every state by the end of this year. Chevrolet will start selling the Spark EV in Maryland this spring, the electric mini-car’s first entry into the East Coast market. The Spark EV is also sold in California and Oregon, where sales totaled 1,145 in 2014. The GM-built motor and drive unit deliver 327 lb-ft (444 nm) of torque, enabling a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). GM says that this is part of its plan to gain exposure for the vehicle and the Chevrolet brand.
