My biggest gripe was an intrusion of outside noise above 60 mph. I get it – sound deadening equals fuel-economy killing weight. Fuel economy is listed at 52 mpg across the board for city/highway/combined. Either way, good numbers though real-world fuel economy often falls short of the EPA rating, as it did here.

The York facility is much closer to Heathrow Airport (to which there are cheap nonstop flights from Denver) than the one in Edinburgh , so we rented a Mercedes-Benz A-Class saloon and drove the four hours north to York (stopping at a breaker's yard near Nottingham to grab some Euro-market XJ Cherokee taillights, as one does).

Excellent fuel economy, nice styling, low price and an excellent warranty. Low-cost but not cheap. This combination delivers EPA fuel economy numbers of 33 mpg city/41 highway/36 combined. The 2022 Kia Rio S ups the equation with superb fuel economy, a roomy cabin, and an excellent warranty.

Lower gears are used to help acceleration while higher gears are set up for cruising and maximizing fuel economy. It’s all about keeping your engine in the right rev range the situation, and having more gears helps do that, which can allow for better performance and fuel economy. Basic physics cannot be denied.

This means that when you are towing up a grade, it will pull strong and still deliver good fuel economy. These numbers are a bit lower than competitor trucks, but the trade-off is better fuel economy in exchange for less payload and towing. Fuel economy for the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel is.

On the highway the hybrid powertrain doesn’t seem to run out of ideas when it comes time to pass another car going 70 mph, but this is no Lucid Air Sapphire either. The least efficient Camry trim will be the XSE model with all-wheel drive carrying fuel economy ratings of 44/43/44 mpg. Still efficient.

Safety standards have required the implementation of systems that often won’t fit into older/smaller designs and loopholes in the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards have resulted in manufacturers sizing up models to exploit regulatory blind spots. This basically spelled the end of traditional economy cars on the market.
