Making hydrocarbons out of CO 2 must overcome two challenges—chemical stability of the CO 2 molecule and a cheap and renewable hydrogen source. The main products produced by the new catalyst cover the gasoline (C 5 -C 11 ) and diesel (C 12 -C 21 ) ranges, while waxy hydrocarbons (C 25+ ) are ∼15 wt%. Source: Choi et al.
