BMW to partner with Coulomb Technologies in Boston; Coulomb offering new cloud-based service plans, new dual-port charging stations

US Mini E leasing program to begin

A leasing program of 450 Mini E model cars is set to begin in the US. Over the next few weeks a select number of customers in New Jersey, New York and California will take delivery of a fully electric version of the Mini Coupe as part of a trial program. 62 mph in 8.5 hours to charge. BMW ActiveE available for leasing in US in Fall 2011

The feedback from customers testing the MINI E and the BMW ActiveE will be fed directly into series production of the MCV, which the BMW Group will be launching under a new sub-brand in 2013. As a result, the BMW ActiveE accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under nine seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at around 90 mph.
