BYD announced the launch of Hong Kong’s first all-electric taxi fleet using the BYD e6 electric cross-over sedan. BYD also announced that the e6 “Taxi version” and e6 “Premier” sedan were now officially on sale in Hong Kong. The 5-passenger BYD e6 offers a range of up to 300 km (186 miles), according to BYD.

The battery shows a reversible capacity of ≈100 mAh g −1 and a capacity retention of 88% after 200 charge–discharge cycles. Upon charging, anions in the electrolyte intercalate into the graphite cathode, while the Li + ions in the electrolyte deposit onto the aluminum counter electrode to form an Al–Li alloy.

Level 3 chargers and “superchargers” cannot be used to charge the Pacifica Hybrid.

Rotterdam Taxi Centre (RTC), one of the biggest taxi operators in the Netherlands, is switching to electric taxis and has put into service two BYD e6 models, following successful extensive operation with an e6 model. The City will install the 500 th charging point next week, supplied with ‘green’ electricity from renewable sources.
