In an attempt to clear up confusion over where the current Volvo C40 Recharge and Volvo XC40 Recharge sits in its growing EV line-up both will be renamed for 2024. From now on the Volvo XC40 Recharge will go by the Volvo EX40 name, while the more rakish C40 Recharge will be rebadged as the EC40. 2024 Volvo EX40.

A new all-electric luxury SUV is set to hit the market next year to compete with Tesla’s best-selling Model Y. Volvo is joining the luxury electric SUV market with its new EX60 launching next year. According to Volvo Cars’ chief commercial officer and deputy CEO, the EX30 is helping boost sales. That’s up from 13 in Q4 2023.

Volvo Cars is starting 2024 with its 17th straight month of growth. Although Volvo’s Recharge model sales (EV and PHEV) fell 3% to 19,171, fully electric vehicles continued to see higher demand. Volvo sold 7,471 electric cars in Europe, up 40%, while EV sales in China (-50%) and the US (-66%) slipped in January.
