The REVA NXR. Northern Lights Energy ( NLE ), the initiator of the 2012 charging infrastructure project and provider of infrastructure and services for electric vehicles (EV) based in Iceland, has signed an agreement with Reva Electric Car Company to jointly develop the electric vehicle market in Iceland.

Central to the policy of investment into electric cars, was the announcement of subsidies worth up to £5,000 to be given to buyers of electric cars. By announcing the grant will commence in 2011, Mr. Hoon is actually inviting consumers to wait until 2011 to buy an electric car.

Market introduction and investment plans under the EDISON (Electric Vehicles in a Distributed Market using Sustainable Energy and Open Networks) in Denmark will result in upwards of 10pc of the country’s vehicles being all electric or hybrid electric during the coming years.

US car giant GM is to develop and market a small, cheap electric car for the Indian market. The car maker will develop the car in conjunction with Reva, the manufacturer of electric vehicles, best known for its G-Wiz models in the UK.

California-based Green Automotive Company, having recently acquired Liberty Electric Cars Ltd in Europe ( earlier post ), has signed a binding agreement to buy UK-based electric vehicle distributor Going Green Limited. GoinGreen has accumulated more than 60 million miles of electric vehicle user experience.
