The Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) will award $22 million in funding to 18 projects as part of the Macroalgae Research Inspiring Novel Energy Resources (MARINER) program. MARINER projects are to develop the tools to enable the United States to become a leading producer of macroalgae (seaweed).
