In a new report , Navigant Research forecasts that plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) sales in the US and Canada in 2016 will near 200,000 unit sales, growing by around 62% year-over-year. Navigant further expects significant growth in the North American PEV market over the next few years.

As you will see in a minute, with the passing of a year and perhaps becoming a bit wiser, I’ve reduced my forecasts a fair amount for various models (although I’m comparing US and Canada to just a new US-only forecast). By comparison, in 2020 Tesla sold an estimated 242,713 units in North America (US and Canada).
