The 2025 Renault 5 E-Tech Electric has been unwrapped at the Geneva motor show and from our first look at the reborn French icon this could be one of the most desirable EVs not a lot of money can buy. But when the small hatch does rock up it will rival the likes of both the cut-price BYD Dolphin and more expensive MINI Cooper Electric.

Polestar and BYD were two of the new EV brands that arrived during the year and brands as diverse as Volkswagen and GWM confirmed their intention to start selling electric vehicles here in 2023. I wonder, then, how many car-company execs are throwing their spare Nokias at the product guys who told them EVs would never catch on, that Tesla was a flash in the pan, like Laser Disc players or Google Glass (again, there’s that feeling of Apples falling from the sky to beat your head in, hello Vision Pro), and would never catch on.

Followed Google Maps to hit Hosur road - and from then on the Maps was switched off. Also meeting BYD e6 owner! Started the day with a visit to India’s first owner of the BYD B6 car. The BYD is going to be Jay’s car now. The BYD folks use kWh per 100 km - please spare us guys and move on to wh/km.)

You can do a google search to check the facts on energy creation. Also in early 2020, Toyota announced a new joint-venture with China’s biggest electric vehicle manufacturer: BYD. We assume that much of the engineering of the battery packs and motors will be from BYD which will go inside the BZ4X. Get the F outta here."
