BMW announced that the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (without Destination & Handling) for the i3 electric vehicle in the US will be $41,350, before any federal or state incentives. The BMW i3 will offer interior space comparable to the BMW 3 Series on a shorter overall body.

BMW Group and Vattenfall Europe have begun a second phase of the Mini E test fleet in Berlin, with the transfer of 70 MINI E electric vehicles to private customers (30 units) and fleet users (40 units). In cooperation with the Federal Environment Ministry, BMW AG in China, together with the Society for International Cooperation (GIC) Ltd.

In a simultaneous—and video linked—unveil in New York, London and Beijing, BMW introduced the production version of its i3 battery-electric vehicle on Monday. The BMW i3 uses the BMW eDrive rear-wheel drive powertrain previously found on the BMW ActiveE (but the i3 is significantly lighter).

Other than sports car wanna-bes, modern cars are so quiet that you hear tire/wind noise much more than engines. Reply ↓ ↑ report 3 Snowdog 6:22PM (4/17/2009) Totally agree. I have stated the same before. If they force noice makers on Hybrids and EVs, this will be yet another break down in common sense.
