The BYD battery technology also allows for a full charge in less than 5 hours. Buquebus and CTS Auto S.A., The bus can be charged overnight, while the electricity pricing is lower.

BYD will provide the Colombian capital of Bogotá with a fleet of 379 pure electric buses, in a deal awarded by the capital’s TransMilenio SA mass transport authority. It will also be 60% cheaper to operate these buses, compared to traditional diesel-powered buses.

Eaton Corporation has signed a long-term agreement to design and supply Argentine bus manufacturer Tecnología Avanzada en Transporte S. TATSA), a company wholly owned by Consorcio Metropolitano de Transporte S.A., with a hybrid electric power system for use in buses in Argentina and throughout South America.
