Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced its plans to launch electric two-wheelers in India next year. Next year, Honda will introduce two electric scooters in India, one of which will be an upgraded Activa. Honda aims to provide 10 electric scooters in its lineup over the next five years.

Honda is the latest name on the list – it will reveal the CR-Z Concept 2009, the most recent prototype of a compact sports car using Honda’s IMA technology, at the show. It will also be the first petrol-electric vehicle to use a six-speed manual transmission. Two more Honda concepts will also make their debut at the event.

They have 4 models of electric scooters and also plan to launch some motorcycles. The Vegatron is a Honda Dio look alike. My hypothesis is that the likes of Kinetic Honda and later on Activa killed the Bajaj simply because they had flat floorboards. I thought initially that it was a supercapacitor based battery.

Mr Bhavish said this one giant mega building will house paint shops, weld shops, assembly, battery manufacturing etc. Mr Bhavish said that this factory will manufacture 2 wheeler scooters to start and then manufacture motorcycles and also Electric Cars. The battery pack and the BMS are made by the OLA team. We are too excited.
