The Volvo Car Corporation has begun production of the C30 Electric ( earlier post ); initial deliveries to leasing customers, mainly companies, authorities and governmental bodies, will take place immediately after the summer. Volvo says it will build about 250 cars by the end of 2012, possibly more if market interest takes off.

Volvo Car Corporation has ordered more than 250 electric drivetrain systems to power the C30 Electric ( earlier post ) from BRUSA Elektronik AG; more may be built, based on market interest. BRUSA not only provides the hybrid-synchronous motor, but also supplies all other drivetrain components such as the motor controller and battery charger.

Polestar, the electric performance car brand jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding, unveiled the Polestar 2 electric fastback in an online reveal from Polestar’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Polestar 2 will make its first public appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show next week.
