AeroVironment has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Marriott Waikiki in Hawaii. In March of this year AeroVironment received a $820,000 contract from the Hawaii EV Ready Grants Program. The new chargers are part of Hawaii’s growing charging infrastructure currently being deployed to support electric vehicles.

The California Energy Commission approved nearly $9 million in grants for the installation of DC fast chargers along major state freeways and highways to allow electric vehicle drivers to travel from San Diego to the Oregon border without worrying about running out of energy. The award was part of nearly $9 million in grants that went to four companies—Chargepoint Inc.; which will install 61 DC fast chargers at 41 sites along major routes on Interstate 5, Highway 99 and Highway 101. Recargo plans to install a minimum of one 50 kW charger plus one Level 2 station at each of the eight sites.

US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) will invest up to $100 million in a Biofuels Infrastructure Partnership to support the infrastructure needed to make more renewable fuel options available to American consumers. USDA will post a Notice of Solicitation of Applications in June.
