It goes without saying that we all want our petrol engines to achieve better fuel economy at a lower cost – however, according to a new study, US vehicle owners would rather existing engine choices achieve this goal over opting for higher priced alternative fuel engines.

There’s encouraging progress in alternate fuels like CNG and ethanol too. Last year also saw a total of 379,837 petrol-ethanol powered vehicles sold in India. Demand for petrol-hybrid models is on the upswing too – the 331,761 units sold in 2023 marked a 72% YoY increase over 2022’s 192,904 units.
