The first Audi Q8 e-tron drove off the production line at the Brussels plant yesterday, 14 December, marking the beginning of an era for the new top model in Audi’s electric SUV range. The plant has been a model for sustainable production since the production of the Audi e-tron began.

As of 2018, Audi Brussels will produce exclusively the commercial version of Audi’s e-tron quattro battery-electric SUV ( earlier post ). The site in Belgium will thus become a key plant for electric mobility at the Volkswagen Group. The plant will also produce its own battery packs.

Electrek reported last week that BYD is dropping prices of its EVs in Germany by as much as 15%, with its Atto 3 compact SUV seeing the biggest cuts. BYD only sold 4,140 cars in Germany in 2023, but is looking for 10% market share after its factory in Hungary starts production in a few years.
