RWE, GE, Züblin, and Germany’s National Research Center for Aeronautics are cooperating in the ADELE project, which is developing large-scale adiabatic compressed air energy storage. When electricity demand increases later on, this compressed air can then be used to generate power in a turbine by simultaneously recovering the heat.
