The beleaguered automotive industry in the United States has taken its fair share of knocks over the last 12 months but none were more shocking than when one of the oldest and most well-respected brands in motoring – General Motors (GM) – slipped into bankruptcy earlier this year. Volkswagen AG and Suzuki Motor Corporation have signed a framework agreement to establish a close long-term strategic partnership. The two companies said that they complement each other in terms of product portfolio, global distribution and manufacturing capacities. We can’t afford to spend a lot of time on this, we want to be speedy.
