Volkswagen Group, Mobileye and Champion Motors plan to commercialize Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) with self-driving electric vehicles in Israel. Operating as “New Mobility in Israel,” the group’s proposal was formally accepted by the Israeli government during a private ceremony at the Smart Mobility Summit 2018 in Tel Aviv.

As part of the demonstration, which took place on 15 March 2018 in a new motorsport park in Be’er Sheva, Israel, Griiip equipped all their G1 racecars on the track with Autotalks’ V2X solution, based on the CRATON2 chipset. Griiip designs and manufactures innovative race cars targeted at the entry level categories.

The V-LiDAR (Vehicle-LiDAR)—to be based on LeiShen’s advanced 3D LiDAR and on Newsight’s NSI5000 CMOS image sensor using Newsight’s eTOF (Enhanced Time-of-Flight) technology—will become available in the first half of 2018. Participants will also receive extensive R&D support for their final system design.

Israel-based StoreDot, a developer of extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology for electric vehicles (EVs), announced a new framework agreement with its strategic battery manufacturing partner EVE Energy Co., Ltd (EVE) to support the commercialization of StoreDot’s silicon-dominant anode XFC FlashBattery for EVs.

The LEVC electric taxi might still be the only EV that both designed *and* produced on UK’s home turf. Heck, even Israel crossed 3% last year. E-buses were deployed.
