Lordstown Motors says it is running out of cash for its future development of electric vehicles and might be forced to close its doors for good within the next year. Lordstown Motors is based in Lordstown, Ohio, and the company purchased a 6.2 million square foot factory from General Motors in 2019.

The updated trucks, which were originally purchased in September 2015, deliver up to four times the fuel economy of a gasoline-powered vehicle, UPS said. At a press event in Tokyo to lay out his future vision and direction for the company, Honda Motor President & CEO Takahiro Hachigo said that the company will strive to make two-thirds of its overall unit sales from plug-in hybrid/hybrid vehicles and zero-emissions vehicles such as fuel cell vehicles and battery EVs by around 2030.
