Tesla is cutting ties with South Windsor, Connecticut, after the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously rejected the automaker’s proposal to open a showroom in the town. A 2016 study found that 34 percent of people would rather wait in line at the DMV than buy a car.

Tesla Service Center permit revoked due to local dealership concern over direct sales

Tesla has had a permit for a new Service Center from the East Hartford, Connecticut Planning and Zoning Commission revoked after a local dealership voiced concern regarding direct-to-consumer sales laws. The East Hartford PZC voted to approve the Tesla Service Center, which would be located at 300 Connecticut Boulevard, last April.

Tesla’s war against direct sales wages on with big win in Virginia

This decision goes against the wishes of the Virginia Automobiles Dealers Association (VADA), which will not plan a legal challenge. Tesla will still need to obtain a license issued by the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board to have permission to operate as a car sales entity. It was an easy way out. Holcomb also granted Tesla this license.
