Land Rover presented its Range_e development model at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week. This development model features a plug-in hybrid diesel-electric powertrain that Land Rover expects to make available in future production models, following the scheduled launch of its diesel-electric hybrid in 2013.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is demonstrating the ultra-low carbon XJ_e plug-in hybrid engineering research vehicle ( earlier post ) at the 2012 CENEX Low Carbon Vehicle Event in the UK. liter turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine which powers the Range Rover Evoque and a hybridized 8-speed automatic transmission.

Land Rover is pricing the new 2012 Range Rover Evoque starting at $43,995 for the five-door, and $44,995 for the coupe. The Range Rover Evoque is the brand’s most fuel-efficient model to date, and achieves an estimated 28 mpg US EPA highway and 19 mpg US EPA city.
