As part of its report on fourth quarter and year-end 2008 results, Ener1 outlined its EnerDel unit’s customer programs underway for its lithium-ion battery technology in applications spanning hybrids, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and full electric vehicles. Overall, Ener1 reported 2008 revenues of $6.8 million in 2007.

We noted in December that the Society of Automotive Engineers, or SAE, was working to update standards for the interface between plug-in electric cars and the grid, and planned to agree on a set within months. And for this ecosystem to be robust, there must be commonality, especially when owners are plugging into the electrical grid.

The general theme (and purpose) is: Plug-in Arizona!

Introduced at the Hybrid Truck Users Forum (HTUF), the MT-EV WIV features a lightweight, aerodynamic design for improved efficiency. FCCC first introduced its plug-in, all-electric WIV chassis earlier this year. The new design was engineered to allow for improved aerodynamics without giving up the functionality of the vehicle.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) presented the preproduction plug-in all-electric walk-in van (WIV) chassis at the 2010 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Work Truck Show. FCCC initiated our all-electric project well before stimulus money and federal grants were available for alternative-power transportation projects.
