Our neighborhood is called the “Hollywood Riviera&# because of its beautiful hillside homes with idyllic ocean views framed by palm trees. What we’re not breathing is clean air, because the smoke from the La Canada-Flintridge fire, about 38 miles from here, is still making air quality hazardous and people in the L.A.

Not only is the South Bay’s greenest city getting the EVs for use by city officials, Mini USA is also providing an electric charging station for the cars. The key to Manhattan Beach scoring the EVs was Councilman Richard Montgomery’s personal contacts with the Mini E decision makers. Bravo, Mr. Montgomery.

In this case for GRID Alternatives at a low income home in my old neighborhood in Long Beach, California. It’s rare for the average person to ever get a good up close and personal look at panels, especially so close to the ground. I’ve never made less money or had a more rewarding time.

Just as we also see California for what it is – the most energy efficient state in the the USA and the only logical model for the rest of the country to follow. And now it’s time for the rest of the USA to step up and try and match us out here on the best coast. And that kind of vision makes us powerful.

While I was aware of this trend — I see it loud and clear in my own neighborhood — I hadn’t realized how wide-spread this trend actually was in the US. In my own neighborhood I see several EV drivers with long cables from Level 2 chargers in the garage, and extension cords presumably from a 120 Volt outlet. Image Source: Volvo USA.
