As promised ( earlier post ), Hyundai unveiled the Sonata Hybrid at the New York International Auto Show. The company also introduced a new turbocharged version of the Sonata, the 2.0T. The Sonata Hybrid can deliver electric drive operation at steady-state speeds of up to 62 mph (100 km/h). Electric operation limit [mph].

The BMW ActiveE ( earlier post ) will be available for lease in the metropolitan markets of Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, New York and Boston as well as the state of Connecticut beginning in Fall 2011 for $499 per month for 24 months with a down payment $2,250. Top speed is electronically limited at around 90 mph.
