Lexus unveiled its “Lexus Electrified” vision for an upcoming generation of electrified vehicles. Headlining this was the debut of the Lexus LF-30 Electrified Concept, which made its world premiere at the 46 th Tokyo Motor Show 2019. The LF-30 Electrified also carries the ‘Lexus Airporter’ drone-technology support vehicle.

Top-Selling Lexus Hybrid Sedan Adds Sporty Styling. Lexus offers three different size sedans for 2022, the IS, ES and LS; the midsize ES is the best-seller of the group. Lexus adds a sporty touch to its hybrid hero. The EPA rates fuel economy for the 2022 Lexus ES 300h at 43 mpg city/44 highway/44 combined mpg.

In October 2023, Toyota announced it would invest an additional $8 billion in its North Carolina EV battery plant, which it first announced in December 2021, to make batteries for its EVs and PHEVs. It says it has 26 “electrified” models, but it only sells two battery-electric vehicles, the bZ4X SUV and the Lexus RZ.

A new generation of Toyota’s popular C-HR small SUV is expected to arrive around the middle of next year, likely with choice of petrol, hybrid, PHEV and full EV powertrains. In December last year Toyota announced it would spend $100 billion launching 30 EVs – including a ute – by 2030 under the bZ, Toyota and luxury Lexus badges.
