Toyota Motor Europe (TME) posted first quarter sales result of 225,152 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Europe, up 14% from the same period in 2013. In the first quarter, Toyota Yaris Hybrid sales reached 15,305 units, up 34%. Total Yaris sales were 49,656 units, up 12% from the same period last year.

With a year-on-year rise of 14%, hybrid models helped TME maintain sales in Q1 2019 in a declining market, pushing up TME share to 5.2%. Despite the weaker European market and the staggered launch of three new models, Toyota & Lexus sales remained stable in the first quarter thanks to strong demand for our hybrid models.
