As our climate change crisis worsens and spins out of control with each passing day there’s no time to spare for those of us whose job it is to educate and motivate our fellow citizens to actions that cut our greenhouse gas emissions. If Los Angeles County were a nation, its economy would be the 18th largest in the world.

The vision is fuelled by the fear of climate change and the need to find green alternatives to dirty coal, unpopular nuclear power and unreliable gas imports from Russia. Every scrap of waste food, garden trimmings and even sewage would be used to ferment gas. Are we going to burn more oil, natural gas, or (gasp) coal to produce it?

Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles. If you build a car as a "kit car" with no real factory, then yes, it will never be an economic success. Think of driving any vehicle in the hot Los Angeles summer time.
