They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G. And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. And indeed, that’s how promoters of vehicle-to-grid technology perceive the EV.

Last week, at the Model S unveiling in Los Angeles, Tesla revealed that an optional “ QuickCharg e &# battery would get a full charge in 45 minutes from a 480V outlet. Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles. Think of driving any vehicle in the hot Los Angeles summer time. Denmark did that with Wind Power and now most of their energy comes from wind rather than oil, natural gas, or coal.
