Some curious vehicles have emerged on the electric vehicle market over the years, and few have been more curious than the Triac. We first wrote about the Triac three-wheel electric vehicle back in 2010. Made by Green Vehicles of Salinas, California, it touted a 100-mile range, an 80 mph top speed, and a price tag of $25,000.

Honda last week announced key targets for sales of electrified vehicles in North America, with a plan to make battery-electric and fuel cell electric vehicles (BEVs and FCEVs) to represent 100% of its vehicle sales by 2040, progressing from sales of 40% by 2030 and 80% by 2035. Honda has plans for a mid- to large-size electric vehicle to debut for sale in North America in 2025, based on a dedicated platform. An EV based on the N-ONE will go on sale in Japan in 2025, with two small EVs following in 2026. Honda claims to be launching 10 electric motorcycles globally by 2025. One will be an SUV.

Assessing Hoverbikes’ Risks Safety concerns are just as big a hurdle to making hoverbikes available for sale. Though Aerofex is still in business, the company retired the Aero-X before the aircraft’s anticipated go-to-market date. But 16 years after its 2008 maiden flight, the $85,000 Aero-X is still not available for sale.
