has closed a $68,155,000 “Green Bond” private activity bonds offering to finance the construction of its renewable natural gas (RNG) project in Northwest Iowa. The feedstock for the RNG Project will be supplied by three dairy farms located in Northwest Iowa totaling more than 20,000 milking cows.

The VERBIO Nevada (Iowa) Biorefinery began producing renewable natural gas (RNG) on an industrial scale in December 2021. Collaboration between VERBIO and Alliant Energy led to the opening of the facility, which Alliant Energy serves with both natural gas and electric service.

Fulcrum will gasify 147,000 tons of municipal solid waste to produce synthesis gas which it then will catalytically convert to synthetic paraffinic kerosene/jet fuel via a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) process. A venturi scrubber captures and removes any entrained particulate, and the syngas is further cooled in a packed gas cooler scrubber.

However, building more coal and gas power plants to make miles for transport is counter-productive if the game plan is to reduce carbon output. At that rate, the cost to operate an electric vehicle is 2 cents per mile. Unfortunately, they don’t.
