Karma Automotive announced its E-Flex utility van platform with extended range electric vehicle (EREV) architecture. Karma’s new EREV E-Flex Van platform provides the ability to have flexible all-electric range up to 200 miles, and combined range of over 400 miles depending upon configurations and commercial applications.

According to Ford, that translates to three days for an average 30 kilowatt-per-hour-per-day house with the extended-range Lightning battery, or as long as 10 days when used with a home solar power system that is equipped with a transfer switch that disconnects the house from the grid. And that’s much cheaper than a new $1,300 kit.

General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. Volkswagen CEO says "Future belongs to electric cars," has gained German government support for development. Its not in todays Prius and we wouldnt expect that in the future.
