The pilot e-Golfs will be added into the Volkswagen Mobility Solutions Rwanda fleet to provide customized mobility service. The services are offered using a fleet of vehicles assembled at Volkswagen Rwanda’s assembly facility in Kigali. Ghana and Ethiopia are planned as the next locations. —Thomas Schäfer.

The Max was grounded in early 2019 after two crashes killed a total of 346 people in Indonesia and Ethiopia. On Sunday, Turkish Airlines announced that it would immediately ground the five Max 9 planes in its fleet until further notice. Alaska Airlines has 65 Max 9 planes, while United Airlines has 79.

The company has struggled to regain the public’s trust after two crashes of 737 Max 8 jetliners, in Indonesia in 2018 and Ethiopia in 2019, killed a total of 346 people. United has 79 of the planes and Alaska has 65, but Alaska has had the bigger share of cancellations from the grounding because the Max 9 makes up 20 percent of its fleet.
