The 2013 Honda Fit EV ( earlier post ) received a combined adjusted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mile-per-gallon-equivalency (MPGe) rating of 118 MPGe—the highest yet awarded by the EPA. The FIT EV’s fuel consumption rating is 29 kWh per 100 miles; EPA-rated annual fuel cost is $500. EPA Combined MPGe.

The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV ( earlier post ) now carries a combined city/highway EPA-estimated range of 82 miles when fully charged and an EPA-estimated combined city/highway 119 MPGe fuel economy equivalent (28 kWh/100 miles), making it one of the most fuel-efficient EVs assessed by the EPA.

Separately, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, said that when the smart brand introduces the smart electric drive next year in the US, the EV will attain 122 MPGe in the city—less than the Mitsubishi i-MiEV (2012 model EPA-rated at 126 MPGe), but higher than the other battery-electric vehicles (..)

MMNA) is reducing the price of the MY 2014 i-MiEV battery electric vehicle by 21% ($6,130) from the previous 2012 vehicle and delivering an expanded standard equipment package with it. After factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net MSRP of the 2014 Mitsubishi i-MiEV drops down to only $15,495.
