With effect from 3 February 2014, international automotive supplier Continental has taken over full ownership of its former joint venture, Zytek Automotive, based in the UK. It previously had a 50% shareholding in Zytek Automotive. This acquisition allows us to meet the increasing need for engineering services.
city car concept, shown at the Tokyo motorshow, is powered by an electric drive system from Zytek that employs a range of new design approaches to minimize the cost, weight and size of the powertrain while maximizing the performance and range. Yamaha wanted the vehicle to reflect the company’s reputation for outstanding engines.
The initial focus will be on increasing the efficiency of today’s transmission and engine technology based on contacts with automotive OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers). The car, manufactured by ZytekEngineering and managed by Corsa Motorsport, is the first racing car to feature an advanced alternative-fuelled hybrid propulsion system.
