By comparison, the Nissan LEAF carries a 99 MPGe (combined) EPA rating, while the smaller i-MiEV carries a 112 MPGe (combined) rating. The French Mega City appeared next from NICE (No Internal Combustion Engine). Mitsubishi could be the first with cars for sale if the UK distributor has its way. From where I sit (in the driver's seat of a NiMH powered Toyota RAV4 EV) this seems eminently practical. India's Reva was first into the market with the G-Wiz.

The i-MiEV is based on Mitsubishis i line of micro-cars which are quite popular in Japan. The four door i-Miev is only 11ft 1inches, 4ft 10inches wide, and 5ft 3inches tall but feels much roomier inside. Inside the car looks like a standard i-car but the gauges have very different meanings.

Also ferrying guests about a short circuit (so to speak) was a smart fortwo imbued with a Tesla-engineered drivetrain, fruit of its effort to supply Daimler with battery packs for 1,000 smart eds. I wish the thing was for sale as-is. I would seriously consider getting one whenever it comes out. and 49 mpg.

Still, the instant torque of the electric motor is a rush you get to experience all the time in city driving; each time you pull away from a red light and stop sign youre wondering why gasoline engines ever became popular. 10:59AM (4/22/2009) I know it is a REALLY superficial criteria, but I love the paint scheme on the blue one pictured. Thats such a pretty metallic blue; I would love to see these postal vehicles around my neighborhood. I really hope Chrysler can pull themselves out of the fire. Looks sharp.
