Efforts to improve the fuel efficiency of new cars sold in the European Union (EU) stalled in 2017 compared to 2016, according to provisional data published today by the European Environment Agency (EEA). According to the provisional data, the average CO 2 emissions of a new car sold in the EU rose by 0.4 g/km last year to 118.5g/km.

Transport for London (TfL) has ordered 20 hydrogen double-decker buses as part of its drive to make London’s transport zero-emission. It follows the introduction of the world’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone last month. Wrightbus in Northern Ireland will manufacture them, creating new jobs in the region.

Using a mixed fleet of traditional 7.5 tonne and 18 tonne vehicles, the company handles upwards of 300 orders per day and delivers palletized product using a fleet of dedicated vehicles.
