Law enforcement demand for all-electric vehicles is growing worldwide. Last week, Ford introduced a new Mustang Mach-E police concept car in the United Kingdom. The initial concept is a demonstrator Mustang Mach-E Standard Range AWD (all-wheel drive).

London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is using its extended-range electric taxi as the basis for a new van. Called the VN5, it's currently available to order, with deliveries of right-hand drive vehicles for the United Kingdom scheduled to begin.

Opel and Europcar have agreed to introduce the Opel Ampera extended range electric vehicle ( earlier post ) as a rental car throughout Europe. The goal is to deploy the first vehicles in Europcar rental outlets in Germany in November of this year, followed soon afterwards by Belgium and the Netherlands.

UK-based Langford Performance Engineering has integrated a 30 kW Capstone C30 liquid fueled microturbine as a range extender into a series plug-in hybrid version of a Ford S-Max people carrier—a seven-seat crossover vehicle—in the United Kingdom. The Whisper Eco-Logic microturbine extended range electric vehicle.

Zipcar in the UK will incorporate the extended range electric Ampera into its fleet of self-service, pay-as-you-go vehicles for the next six months. Zipcar offers more than 30 makes and models of self-service vehicles. In London, there are more than 1,700 vehicles available for use.
