Exceeding its initial program targets, the plug-in 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid ( earlier post ) has earned an electric-mode fuel economy rating of 84 miles-per-gallon-equivalent (MPGe) from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Invited to attend by US billionaire Warren Buffet who invested in the company last year, BYD is set to demonstrate its F3DM or E6 model. At the moment BYD is targeting corporate and government buyers because of subsidies for environmentally friendly vehicles for public transport applications such as taxis and the postal service.

In December last year, BYD began selling the world’s first mass-produced plug-in hybrid vehicle, the F3DM, which is slated to go on sale in Europe in 2010 with a 62mile all-electric range.
